


In the period after Lee Kuan Yew’s death, there was a deluge of visual projects, mostly surrounding the intense mourning process the country went through.
I felt disconnected to the tribute-y nature of many of the “Great Leader”-type projects. I also did not feel qualified enough to work on a visual critique of his policies.
So, my reaction to the news was a series of portraits of people who shared LKY’s name. Some of whom were born before he even took political office.
